    It's a good question!
I've to note a couple words. There were two types of the heavy tank JS-2: early(production spring-summer 1944) and late (production since autumn 1944). The first (early, it has so called "broken nose") was equipped at the gunner's place with two sight devices:
    JS-2(early)
    1. Telescopic(direct) for shooting: 10T-17. It has 15degrees of FOV(field of view) and Zoom=2.5
    2. Panoramic to watch on the battlefield: PT4-17. It has 26degrees of FOV(field of view) and Zoom=2.5

    JS-2(late)
    1. Telescopic(direct) for shooting: TSh-17. It has 15degrees of FOV(field of view) and Zoom=2.5
    2. Panoramic to watch on the battlefield: MK-4. It has 45degrees of FOV(field of view) and No zoom. It was took out of production in 1954, coz the lens getting darker after nuclear blast impact.
Panoramic sight is a very important, coz provide observation during the battle. It was not satisfied with FOV. That's why on the late JS-2 model and JS-3 was installed the sight MK-4, see the picture.

According to your comparing, I've to say that at the JS-2(early) gunner's place u've seen through gunsight PT4-17 with FOV=26. It is panoramic sight. U may rotate it with a keys T/Y. In case of JS-3 u've seen through telescopic (direct) sight with FOV=15. As u can see everything settled up properly!
In fact, gunner can't use the panoramic gunsight during targeting, because he didn't know - had been the sight aligned along the barrel properly or not. In the game user may do it a very easily, if press "O" key.

Thanks to will73 for his help with a docs.

I've one note. We've to understand that sights on the tanks separated on three categories:
    1. for targeting with a direct shot. Usually it is telescopic sight with a distance up to 1000m
    2. for watching (panoramic sight). Usually it is periscope sight with a distance up to 200m It has the name triplex.
    3. shooting from the closed positions. It is absent in the game.
Watching sights was a big problem for the Soviet tanks. Only in 1944 this issue was resolved when the copy of the triplex from the British tank "Churchill" under the name MK-IV was installed on the T-34/85 and JS-2.
