The fourth mission "Advance" is at the final stage and now under testing!
Before attack there were 9 Panthers and 3x infantry platoons.
When we took the first village we've lost 3x Panthers (one with track damaged) and ~one infantry platoon.
One my Panther had track damaged also, but after repairing it became operational. Personally, I've killed two T-34/85 from the distance ~1500 meters! The total losses of the enemy concluded: 9x tanks, 3x AT 76mm, 1x AA 85mm and two infantry platoons.

During attack on the second village I've lost my Panther and mission over Smile

In common case mission works, but needs a little bit adjustment. Think the mission will be ready in a couple days then it'll go to our "Golden camera" Geoweb35 for the final testing and tuning.

Mission N4 is ready! The script is a very treacky! At least, I've tried to do so Smile
User never know will he meet the enemy tanks at close combat or at distance 1.5km!
Optimal balance is "5". Action based on the real story with a 5th PD "Wiking" during summer 1944..
Great THANKS to Geoweb35 for his excellent video and masterpiece!  thumbsup

Let's start the mission N3 "Assistance"!
It is a time for the common breakthrough the Soviet encirclement around Kowel. Tank group of Nickolussi has a task to destroy the Soviet rocket launcher battery BM-13 "Katyusha" (the differ name is "Stalin's organ-pipes"), which prevents to start German attack with a main forces.
Meanwhile the Soviet tanks tries to finish with encircled group of Gruppenführer Gille and attacks from two directions.

    History note:
With the breakthrough on 30 March 1944 and the establishment of a pipeline into the city Kowel, the threat to the
pocket of Gruppenfuhrer Gille's units was eliminated for the time being. But the permanent threatening position remained
in place, and there was a pressing need to expand this first breakthrough, as well as open the pocket and send in the
entire "Wiking" Division Kampfgruppe. At this time the Fourth Army also dispatched the 4th and 5th Panzer Divisions to
Kowel. During 3rd April 1944 Obersturmbannjuhrer Muhlenkamp had his hands full making preparations for the attack on
Kowel and the link-up with the elements of his 8th Company under command of SS-Obersturmfuhrer Nicolussi-Leck encircled
there. The plan was worked out and the final relief attack was set on 4th April 1944.
Early on this day SS-Obersturmbannjuhrer Muhlenkamp and the regimental operations staff arrived in Stare Koscary village
and established contact with the command posts of the panzer-grenadiers of the 5th PD. The German artillery opened fire at
3:15 AM and when dawn arrived at 5:13 the individual panzer companies set out toward Kowel with their respective attack
    groups.

Mission N3 "Assistance" is ready and now is under testing! Fighting
It is a hard mission on the balance "5". User has 3xpanthers and 18 gebirgsjager under his command. Ammo is limited: AP shells 12 and 19 HE. He should act with a maximum precise and always keep on watching the wingmen.

Geoweb35 shared with me a couple images from the mission.

I've to say that mission is a very hard at least for those who plays without target markers. At the balance "1" u'll meet:
    - 4xATG 76mm
    - 6x T-34/76
    - 1x infantry platoon
    There are some screenshots:

I think it's time to make a mission N5 for the brave  5th SS Panzer Division Wiking! This time mission should be a bit different than the other ones before. I 'd like to see a convoy task. Let's say user has 3x Panther "A" and must provide the protection to the column, which consist of the 4x truck with infantry, 2x fuel trucks and may be a couple Kettenkrad SdKfz 2 plus Kubelwagen.
So, the main task will be - provide the protection to the column. On the way user will encounter with a Soviet scouts and of course, with a T-34! In this case activity take place at the autumn 1943. BUT I'm still hesitating, coz I want to see the battle Panther vs Sherman! Fighting
So, may be a period during August 1944 will be more preferable. Though, in this case I need to create the new polygon. Lemme think abt. it.
Here's a picture with a basic plan. As u can see the column has two routes. User should make up the decision where to.

    IMAGES

    EDITED 14.07.2018
    History note.
On 7tf August 1943 after a brief period of training for fresh reservists, the newly  (partly) equipped 5th SS-Panzer-Division Wiking made for Bialystok, 18km to northeast of Warsaw.
The task was to blunt the steady advance of the 2nd Belorussian Front, the main burden of the battle falling at first on the men of Westland. A counterattack was repelled and brought a short-term relief. Soon it turned out, the needs of Bialystok were put on hold, since the forces of Germania and Westland had to be switched from one disaster area to another in the familiar "fire brigade" role. Hopes were pinned on the 3rd SSPanzer-Division Totenkopf, rushed by train to the Eastern Front from the Romanian theatre with the armoured Paratroop Division Hermann Goring. As a final result, decreed by Field Marshal Walther Model, was the creation of IVth SS Panzer Corps, under the command of SS-Obergruppenfuhrer und General der Waffen-SS Herbert Gille. The corps itself was brought up to strength with 3rd SS-Panzer-Division Totenkopf and 5th SS-Panzer-Division Wiking.

There are some scrennies from the mission N5 "Escort the column". Though, may be the mission name "Escorting" would sound a bit more preferable. I'm still thinking. It will be a first mission with a "Panther", which take palce during the night. That will be exciting!
The task is - provide the column movement to the destination point and secure the area. In case, if all units will be destroyed then mission fail. Of course, the same situation will take a place, if the user's tank will be destroyed or user will be heavily wounded. The main idea of the mission is - just come to the destination point. Forget about column Smile Think abt. the tank. It wont be an easy deal, coz against the user's two Panther/A(in fact, it should be ausf.D) there will be the next Soviet units:
    - 6x T-34/76/43 + infantry
    - 6x SU-122(depends on the balance).
    - 2x Infantry platoon plus a dozens saboteurs squads equipped with AT riffles!
(As it appeared SU-85 firstly had a fight contact at autumn 1943).
And here we're with a couple shots of the German column. Try to find out what the names of the vehicles are? Wink

The first one is bike BMW R-12. It's interesting that in the USSR the same bike had the name "Dnepr MT 11" or "M-73".

    PS
Soon in STA3.3 mod will be available Panther ausf.D with a cockpit! Will be included in the patch with a Panther/A.

    OK, thanks for the idea!

Now the mission N5 is ready and went to the final testing to Mr. "Golden Camera" Geoweb35! bounce
There is one issue. Instead Panther A there should has been Panther D, but it is still out of cockpit. When Panther D will be ready - it'll be placed in the mission. There are a couple words how to walkthrough the mission.
Don't be bothered with a column. You can't protect the stupid AI Smile But of course, u may try  rabbit Though, the main idea is how to get to the destination point, because the Soviet saboteurs blow up the bridge and columns along the rout. The user is limited with a number of the shell. It does be careful, use HE and MG fire. Don't be afraid to make an ram attack! Don't forget that with a distance the strength of the shell goes down. Try to hit with HE shell the barrel of the tank T-34 or spg SU-122. Remember! No need TO KILL THEM ALL, u have to do your order!  happy

    Column was trapped.

I was about to finish the mission.

Almost all units of the column were destroyed.

    That's mine quite moderate achievement.

Let's continue on with a mission N6! music

This time it'll be 12th SS panzer Division "Hitlerjugend". It is August 1944, Normandy, Le Bourg-Rots area, Bretteville [l'Orgueilleuse].
What we've as a history note:
    1. I've taken the page from the book:
WAFFEN-SS ARMOUR IN NORMANDY, by Norbert Szamveber

    2. There are a couple notes.
The 12. SS-Panzer-Division "Hitlerjugend" also suffered heavy casualties as a result of the bomb runs. On 11 August 1944, it was intended to finally take this division out of the line and replace it with the 85. Infanterie-Division. The 89. Infanterie-Division, which had only recently arrived at the front, had already sunk to 50 percent of its authorized strength.
A German counterattack was launched on 8 August 1944 into the advance towards Vielle Langannerie by the Canadians and the Poles along the N 158. Its objective was to retake the high ground south of St. Aignan.
The commander of the 12. SS-Panzer-Division "Hitlerjugend" decided to take the village of Cintheaux as soon as possible and attack into the masses of enemy armor. The woods southeast of Garcelles was ordered as an intermediate objective. Several Canadian Shermans were knocked out there.

Task of the 4.Kompanie: fight against the enemy armoured fighting vehicles in the Le Bourg-Rots area, and against enemy gunners withdrawn into Bretteville.
The Kompanie followed the enemy. Machine gun fire from 100-200 metres away 1 km west of Rots. Fire was returned, destroying the crew of six small American [sic.] tracked vehicles.15 Most of their infantry mounted on the tanks were shot down. The Panthers advanced further towards Bretteville [l'Orgueilleuse]. 150 metres from the village heavy anti-tank gun fire; four British [sic.]16 anti-tank guns were disabled, and one or two small tracked vehicles were destroyed. Heavy anti-tank gun, tank and machine gun fire. The tanks returned the fire and stopped the enemy fire. Tank no. 427 was damaged by anti-tank gun hit (by hitting the gun mantlet) and was burnt out.
Reorganization of the Kompanie. Tank no. 418 leading the column was damaged by a direct hit of an anti-tank gun and was knocked out. The burning and exploding leading tank prevented the leading platoon from resuming their advance as the road was thus blocked. The village was bypassed from the left. Heavy anti-tank gun and tank gun fire from its southern parts. The village was set ablaze by gunfire. After suppressing the enemy's preventive fire, the Kompanie attacked and reached the north-western exit of Bretteville [l'Orgueilleuse]. Following the given orders, they advanced through the next village. After this no enemy activity was detected, hence the Kompanie withdrew as ordered. On the way back, machine gun, pistol and rifle fire from the burning Bretteville [l'Orgueilleuse] and anti-tank gun fire again. Anti-tank gun hit tank no. 425, piercing the turret. The enemy infantry tried to approach the armoured fighting vehicles under the cover of the fog. The Kompanie was hurriedly withdrawn and following orders is withdrawn into the area south and west of Le Bourg-Rots for securing tasks.
Due to the descending darkness, the l.Kompanie aborted its attack around 2100 hours. The Kompanie assembled on the Caen-Bayeux main road then renewed its attack. Tank no. 116 counts as total loss due to anti-tank gun hit, the turret of tank no. 115 was damaged by an anti-tank gun hit. Securing the road together with the mounted infantry. [Next day] morning at 0700 hours turned to the new securing position west of Rots.
    War Diary Appendix no.3

The main idea is - attack the enemy (Canadian Division with Poles) and capture the last whole bridge over the river Vastel to provide the further offensive. Here's a plane:

    German group consist of:
    - 9x Panthers with desant
    - 1x Panzergrenadier platoon

    Allies (depends on the balance):
    - 15x Sherman equipped with 75mm gun (M4A1/A2)
    - 2x Thunderbolt
    - 4x ATGuns
    - 1x M36 (it should be M-10)

My first try at balance "5" was unsuccessful Smile
I've managed to kill 4x Sherman, but it's not enough. Well, if my wingers did the same the mission would be done!

This is what Thunderbolt done with a bomb!

Let's start the mission N7! It is the MOST long waited mission, coz the main hero is SS-Oberscharführer Ernst Barkmann and his Panther ausf.A!
According to the rumors Barkmann was the most successful ace on the tank "Panther"! He managed to hit NINE Sherman from the 15th! What we do have now?
There are a couple screenies and a video. Let's see what we can do!

And here's a couple shots from the draft polygon:

    - it is advanced squad of the 3rd US Armored Division moves towards Avranches. Column consist of the 15th Sherman!

    - Panther/A attacks the column!

The condition of the victory is 9th Sherman killed(according to the history note)! Let's see how to do that!

Mission N7 "Barkmann corner" is almost ready!
    Let's see some screennies!

Here's a workshop where the personal Barkmann' Panther is located.

The first task is - help to Fallschirmjager to destroy the enemy recce squad.

The second task is - destroy the enemy armoured column! It is not an easy deal, coz enemy called for the aviation support - two "Thunderbolts"!

Finally the mission is over successfully!

Special thanks to Monseigneur Frinik for proofreading!

I think I've found the scenario for the next mission!
It is August 1944, 4th Panzer Division. Main hero is Panther ausf. A, where Commander is Oberfeldwebel Hermann Bix.

Hermann Bix (10 October 1914 – 31 July 1986) was a highly decorated panzer ace in the Wehrmacht. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.

The main task is separated on three parts:
    1. capture the village of Rybienko
    2. capture the bridge over the river of Bug
    3. develop attack towards the village of Wyschkow and capture it
It won't be easy, but will bring a lot of fun and immersion! The most exciting thing will be a trophy Soviet Panthers, which will meet the user's attack!

    It's the main plan.

    History note:
On the August 1944 in the suburbs of Warsaw the tanks of the 4th Panzer Division once again joined the battle. The crews of the Tigers and Panthers fought a tremendous tank battle. Oberfeldwebel Bix and his men faced a greatly superior force of Soviet armor. Many Soviet tanks fell victim to the long-ranging panzer cannon. The 19th Panzer Division joined the battle and the Soviet force was smashed. However, fresh units were already advancing from the Soviet rear areas. Nevertheless, the tanks of the 4th Panzer Division succeeded in capturing the bridge over the Bug river near Wyschkow in a surprise attack. As a result of this advance the tanks were able to drive into the northern flank of a Soviet tank corps that was engaged in outflanking the forces of the German XXXIX Army Corps to the north.
It was 18 August 1944 and the first serious fighting in the new area of operations already lay behind the battalion and its Panthers. The 4th Panzer Division had failed to reach its objective of Mitau and was located in Shagarev. On that day the 35th Panzer Regiment's 1st Battalion received orders to overrun and push back the Russian front line, which bulged westward at that point.

    Quote:
Oberfeldwebel Bix drove at the head of the company. As the most experienced tank commander, Oberleutnant Goldhammer had selected him to lead the company and find the best location to break into the Soviet lines.
    Enemy guns opened fire.
"Hatches shut! Cannon and machine guns ready to fire!" ordered Bix.
The commanders disappeared into their turrets. The gunners reported weapons clear. Through his scissors telescope Bix saw the muzzle flash of a Ratschbum.
"Enemy gun position. Range eight hundred. Open fire!"
    Panzer Aces by Franz Kurowski.

It's time to make a mission devoted to the Panther ausf.D! It has a cockpit then what we're waiting for?  Cool
Here's is scenario for the mission N8! Of course, it is Kursk Salience, July 1943  viking
The Commander of the Panther will be Obersturmfuhrer SS Rudolf von Ribbentrop (son of Joachim Ribbentrop). Well, in fact Rudolf  commanded by Pz.IV, but who cares? It's just a game happy

Panthers from the 10th tank brigade. There was placed the common insignia "Panther's head".

    Here's a base quote:
The 7th Panzer Division continued its advance on 7 July. By 9 July, Schulz's armored group had reached the high ground south of Scheino. By the evening of the eleventh the entire III Panzer Corps had followed into the area north of Scheino. The main body of the 4th Panzer Army battered its way through the in-depth system of enemy positions. Its divisions reached the area of Prokhorovka. II SS-Panzer Corps, one of the army's flanking corps, also broke through into the Prokhorovka area, arriving on the evening of 11 July.

Now the mission is under the heavy testing conditions! I'd like to be sure that we've tested all the possible variants, coz this mission is a VERY unpredictable(depends on the balances)! When we'll run it properly, then it'll go to our "Golden Camera" Geoweb35 to record it with a further presentation!
Though, if u're ready to have a testing - then be my guest! Give me a note via PM that u're ready to take a part as a tester!

What is the current version of the Steel Beast campaign mod?
The working version of "Steel beast" has only 7 missions now. The next variant will be 1.51: eight missions.
I'd like to share some screennies!

I'd like to present a couple screenshots from the mission "Cologne panther". As we can see that mission more or less goes to the final variant, but when it'll be finished - have no idea Embarassed
